Printer Ink and Toner Recycling

Peace has partnered with Evolve recycling to help care for Creation.  In the east weather-lock one can find a box labeled “printer ink and tone” any time this box has 20 ink or toner cartridges in it we pack it up and send it off to Evolve who recycles all the cartridges through certified               re-manufacturing processes and gives Peace a little money for each one

In 2018 we average 12 cents for each cartage and totaled $25 which is used to office set office cost here at Peace.

If you would like to find out how much your ink and toner contributes there is a price list available on Evolves’ web site.   www.evolverecycling.com

This ministry can also be a great way to tell people about God’s work going on here at church, ask at work, school, or your friends if they would like help care for God’s Creation by contributing ink or toner cartridges.   Evolve accepts any and all cartridges.

Here are some Recycling Facts about printer and copy toner cartridge:

Approximately 1.3 billion inkjet cartridges are used around the world annually and less than 30 percent are currently being recycled.

In one year, if the world’s discarded cartridges were stacked end-to-end, they would circle the earth twice.

Over 300 million inkjet cartridges and 70 million laser cartridges are sold in the U.S. annually. Despite the environmental and bottom-line benefits of recycling print cartridges, every year over 300 million cartridges with a combined weight of 150 million pounds are buried in our nation's landfills.

A laser cartridge thrown into landfill can take up to 450 years to decompose. Some components made of industrial grade plastics will take over a thousand years to decompose.

Eight ink cartridges are thrown away every second in the U.S.

It takes about a gallon of oil to produce every new toner/laser cartridge.

People can reduce land-filling when they recycle toner cartridges. Every re-manufactured laser cartridge saves nearly 2 pounds of metal & plastic waste from being deposited in landfills. Toner cartridge re-manufacturing saves over 38,000 tons of plastic and metal from landfills.
